Graphemes

In linguistics, a grapheme is a letter. In this field, it is the name given to all the simple graphic signs that make up the orthographic system of a language, in this case Spanish.

So, a grapheme is a graphic unit in its lowest terms. Thanks to them the written sequence is composed. Why is it said to be a minimum unit? Because it can no longer be divided.

Phonemes

Also, in your Spanish courses you will learn what it is. Like the grapheme, a phoneme is a minimum unit, except that the phoneme refers to the phonological system of a language, in this case Spanish. Same case, it is the minimum unit since it cannot be divided.

A phoneme is the minimum articulation of a vowel sound and they are the base sound units that a language must have, in this case, Spanish.
